CARIBOU – Edwidge Gagnon, 86, wife of the late Lugin “Pete” Gagnon, died Jan. 9, 2007, in Caribou. She was born March 21, 1921, in St. Francis, the daughter of William ” Willie” and Isabelle (Ouellette) Gosselin. Mrs. Gagnon was employed throughout the years by Tater State, Northern Maine Sanatorium, Cary Medical Center, Birdseye and Potato Service. She was a longtime member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She is survived by her three daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Dorilla Brooker of Newport, Mary Lou and Harold Gagnon of Caribou and Marie Wasson of Fort Fairfield; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Leona and Earl Eldredge and Hilda and Richard Nicknair, all of Augusta; seven grandchildren, Debra Gerard, Annette Clark, Dina Eaton, Tammy Cray, Kerry Olmstead, Amanda Cook and Richard Brooker; 13 great-grandchildren, Jessica Marie Olmstead, Jessica Lynn Ludden, Michael Olmstead, Jennifer Parker, Adrian and Brianna Cook, Arthur Ulman, Robert “Robbie” and Mandy Wright, Devon James Cray, Victoria McIntosh and Natasha and Stephanie Podraza; eight great-great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, Jeannette Goslin of Winterville, Evelyn Petitti of Cape Coral, Fla., Irene Gagnon of Presque Isle, Jeannette Gagnon of Ashland and Juanita Gagnon of Waterbury, Conn.; one brother-in-law, Roland Dionne of Fort Kent and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gagnon was predeceased by her husband, Pete in 1986; her parents; two brothers, Gilman and Edgar Goslin; three sisters, Violet Dionne, Katherine Caron and Madeline Stevenson; two grandsons, Kevin Lee Olmstead and Robert Michael Theriault; three great-grandchildren, Heather Burtlett, Paul Murphy and Zachary Eaton. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, from the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. David Raymond officiating in a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be at Eagle Lake Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mrs. Gagnon may do so through the charity of one’s choice. The family extends a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Natasen and the nurses and staff at the Caribou Nursing Home, the Maine Veterans’ Home and Cary Medical Center for the fine care given to Mrs. Gagnon. Arrangements are by the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.
