PRESQUE ISLE – Edwina M. Forbes, 75, died Oct. 21, 2003, at a Madison, Ind. hospital. She was born in Stockholm, Dec. 10, 1927, the daughter of Fred and Irene (Lamarre) Gagnon. Mrs. Forbes was a homemaker and harvested potatoes in the fall for local farmers in Maine. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, hunting and four-wheeling. She resided in Presque Isle most all of her life until moving to Madison, Ind., in September, to be near her daughter. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Lovely and her husband, Duane, of Madison, Ind.; one son, Gilbert Forbes, Sr. and his wife, Beverly, of Dublin, Ga.; five grandchildren, Merle and Justin McGillan, Gilbert Forbes Jr., Julie Forbes and Christopher Forbes; three great-grandchildren, Averie, Grace and Eli McGillan; one sister, Connie Brush of Naugatuck, Conn.; two brothers, James Gagnon of Benton, S.C., Roger Gagnon of N.J.; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Merle I. Forbes on Feb. 24, 2003; four brothers, Bert, Fred, Donald and Joel Gagnon; one sister, Joanne Lagrave. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, at South Side Cemetery, with the Rev. Kenneth Fox officiating.
