LINCOLN and LAKE WORTH, Fla. – Nellie (Griffin) Flanders Youland, 98, died Oct. 29, 2003, in Lake Worth, Fla. She was born in Lincoln Center, July 8, 1905, the daughter of George and Sadie (Haynes) Griffin. Nellie was a member of the Lincoln Center Baptist Church. She enjoyed writing letters and keeping in touch with her many friends. She is survived by four daughters, Jeanette Perry and her husband, Erwin, of Lincoln, Joyce Ball, with whom she made her home for the past four years, of Lake Worth, Fla., Rhoda Quist and her husband, Raymond, of Amherst, N.H., and Pamela McEwen and her husband, Donald, of Lake Worth, Fla.; grandchildren, Brenda Nickerson and her husband, Ted of Merrimack, N.H., Joy Lee Clark and her husband, Stanley, of Nashua, N.H., Susan Munroe and her husband, Scott, of Lake Worth, Fla., Vickie Hale of Deltona, Fla., Rhonda Thiaville and her husband, Joe, of Waynesville, N.C., and June and Joan Quist, of Amherst, N.H.; a sister, Jean Parks of Houlton; nine great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Gerald Flanders in 1961; her second husband, Fred Youland; a granddaughter, Betty Ann Doane; three sisters, Dorothy Flanders, Rowena Marsh, Juanita Steeves; and a brother, George Griffin. Friends may call from 12 noon-1 p.m. Saturday, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Clayton Crocker officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery. Those who wish may donate in her memory to either the Lincoln Center Baptist Church, or, Hospice.
