MATTAWAMKEAG – Elaine Iris Perkins, 75, wife of the late Gordon Perkins, died Jan. 5, 2006, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born Sept. 14, 1930, in Lee, the daughter of Prince and Elsie (Blake) Stevens. Elaine worked as a pastry cook at Olivieri’s Restaurant in Lincoln, and was a cook at Carl Troutt School in Mattawamkeag for eight years. She was a member of the Auxiliary of the VFW Post in Mattawamkeag and was a member of the Mattawamkeag Methodist Church. She enjoyed many summers at the camp on Madagascal Lake. She is survived by five daughters, Christine Gordon and Ray Fogg Jr. of Winn, Roxanne Greenleaf and James of East Millinocket, Rosanne Pelkey and Edward of Winn, Kim Rutty and Robert of Springfield and Patti Perkins and Bruce Williams of Lincoln; eight grandchildren, Douglas Gordon and Heidi of Bangor, Michael Gordon and Raejean of Lincoln, Jill Pelkey and Frederick Budge of Lee, Joseph Pelkey and Ann Bissonnette of Auburn, Liza Greenleaf of East Millinocket, Lindsay Powers and Merle of Greenfield, Krystal King and Kristopher King, both of Winn; four great-grandchildren, Clairice, Courtney and Michael Gordon of Lincoln and Raegan Budge of Lee; five siblings, Gloria Staples and Bernard of Lee, Prince Stevens Jr. and Nancy of Gardiner, Betty Page and Hubert of East Millinocket, Hartley Stevens and Lottie of Lee and Roger Stevens and Paula of Howland; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan 9, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Graveside services will be held in the spring at the Mattawamkeag Cemetery, with the Rev. Leon Robinson, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to either, the Diabetes Foundation or the Lincoln Lakes Region Dialysis Center.
