BREWER – Elaine Louise Spox, 74, died peacefully May 29, 2007, surrounded by loving family and friends, at a Houlton hospital. She was born Sept. 27, 1932, in Bangor, the daughter of John Spox and Emma E. (Street) Spox. Lanie was predeceased by her father, John; three sisters, Jeannine Spox, Geneva Taylor, and Janet Hedrick; her maternal grandparents, Matthew and Katherine Street; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Surviving are her devoted mother, Emma E. Spox of Brewer; two brothers, John R. Spox and his fianc?e, Ellen Burke of Levant, and James M. Spox of Brewer; many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Donna Hedrick; a special cousin, Judy Street; and her loving and caring special friends and family at Forest Springs and Harmony House in Houlton; and her special friend, Mary Pannell. Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with the Rev. Scott Cleveland, pastor of the Second Congregational Church, Brewer, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the service at the Brookings-Smith Reception Rooms, 55 South Main St. Private interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Brewer.
