JONESPORT – Ramona “Mone” E. Faulkingham, 77, went to be with her Lord and Savior, May 29, 2007, after an extended illness. She was surrounded by her family and friends. She was born April 6, 1930, in Jonesport, the daughter of the late Pearl and Susie (Wallace) Urquhart. Ramona worked as a nurse for many years at Down East Community Hospital, Machias, and also worked as director of nursing at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Jonesport. She will also be remembered as a member of the country and western band, Nonie and the Seacoast Ramblers, who performed on TV and radio during the 1960s. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church, Jonesport. Ramona is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Leonal “Nonie” Faulkingham; children, Bonnie S. Sargent of Holiday, Fla., Susie M. Shabanian and husband, Ishkhan, of Waltham, Mass., Cathy L. Searfoss and husband, Craig, of St. Peters, Mo., and Wade G. Faulkingham Sr. and wife, Randi, of Jonesport; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grand-children; brother-in-law, Barney Armstrong of Jonesboro, and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by sisters, Virgie Urquhart, Emma Dorr, Yvonne Alley, Olive Armstrong; and a brother, Harland Urquhart. Ramona will be missed and fondly remembered. Her strong faith, strength and kindness will live on in her family and friends. Visiting hours will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at United Pentecostal Church, Jonesport, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. officiated by Pastor Steve Bertrand.
