BANGOR – Elaine M. Gilmore, 69, died April 14, 2005, at a local hospital. She was born Sept. 5, 1935, in Mattawamkeag, the daughter of Edgar and Harriet Philbrook. Elaine was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor and a member of the ladies auxiliary of the VFW of Old Town. She is survived by two sons, Edmond G. Gilmore Jr. of Orono, George Gilmore of Georgia; two daughters, Jeneen Gilmore of Orono, Theresa Smith of Old Town; three brothers, Robert Philbrook and Lewis Philbrook, both of New Hampshire, Mark Philbrook of LaGrange; one sister, Jane Philbrook of New Hampshire; three grandchildren, Sherri Smith of Lincoln, Amanda Smith and Corey Smith both of Bangor; and one great-grandson, Kolby Smith of Bangor. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, at the Greenlawn Memorial Funeral Home, 300 State St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Bangor. Interment will follow in the family lot, St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Old Town.
