SEDGWICK – Elizabeth G. Girouard, 70, died May 9, 2006, at the Maine Veteran’s Home in Bangor. She was born May 11, 1935, at Blue Hill, the daughter of Arthur and Alice (Clapp) Anderson. Elizabeth was a graduate of George Stevens Academy. She served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956 and was in the U.S. Army Reserves for six years. She was a member of the North Sedgwick Baptist Church, North Sedgwick Grange, Pomona Grange, Halcyon Grange of North Blue Hill, and the Harbor View Chapter of O.E.S. No. 122 in Deer Isle. She especially enjoyed gardening and always looked forward to her trips on the train. Elizabeth worked for 40 years for A.T.T. and, in recent years drove for WHCA. Elizabeth is survived by her two brothers, Arthur Anderson and his wife, Marie, James Anderson and his wife, Nancy, all of Sedgwick; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, A. Chanel Girouard in 1995. Friends are invited to visit with the family 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 11, at Jordan-Fernald, 141 South St., Blue Hill. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 12, at the North Sedgwick Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Becker and the Rev. William Mark officiating. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Sedgwick. Memorial gifts in Elizabeth’s memory may be sent to North Sedgwick Baptist Church, P.O. Box 47, Sedgwick, ME 04676.
