WESLEY – Elizabeth “Sis” M. Day, 81, passed away June 18, 2008, at Marshall Health Care Facility after a brief illness. She was born June 19, 1926, in Machias, the daughter of the late Arthur W. and Roxie (Johnson) Moore. During her lifetime, Elizabeth served as a trustee at Down East Community Hospital, was a member of Wesley School Board and Wesley Fire Department Auxiliary. She was a communicant of Holy Name Catholic Church. Elizabeth is survived by her children, David Day and wife, Margarita, of Bath, Patricia Corbett and husband, Cliff, of Bangor and Randy Day and wife, Jeanne, of Jonesboro; two grandchildren, Jamie and her companion, Michael, and Eric; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Mariana; brothers, James Moore and wife, Barbara, of Weymouth, Mass., Ralph Moore and wife, Joan, of Machiasport and Richard Moore and wife, Anne, of Florida; a sister, Pauline Roesch of Machias; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph W. Day, in 2001; and siblings, William, Arthur, Roger and Ellen Moore. Visiting hours will be held 4-6 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, 6 Cooper St., Machias. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 23, at Holy Name Catholic Church, Free Street, Machias, with Father Mark Nolette presiding.
