PORTLAND – C. Elizabeth Moody, 94, died Jan. 31, 2007, after a long illness. She was born Oct. 5, 1912, in Knox, the only child of Alice (Thompson) and John Edwin Cornforth. She was a graduate of Crosby High School, Belfast and Farmington Normal School. She taught in Waldo County schools and was a substitute teacher in Cumberland and Falmouth schools. Elizabeth was a member of the Eastern Star in Belfast, was a member of Women of Rotary, active with the Salvation Army and was a member of the Cumberland Congregational Church. Elizabeth will be remembered as a woman with a great sense of humor, who was happiest when she was feeding others. Her life was about selfless caring for her family, neighbors and other people. She was born to be a wife and mother. She was a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother extraordinaire Elizabeth is survived by her sons, David Moody Jr. and his wife, Sandra, of Cumberland Center and Douglas Moody of Cumberland; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Moody of Cumberland; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, David B. Moody Sr.; and her son, Donald Moody. Visiting hours will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, at Cumberland Congregational Church, 282 Main St., Cumberland, with the Rev. Diane Bennecamper officiating. Burial will be at Green Lawn Cemetery, Swanville.
