CHERRYFIELD – Ella Grant Thompson, 97, died April 16, 2008, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born Feb. 28, 1911, in Deblois, the daughter of Lincoln and Elizabeth (Merritt) Grant. She worked for 50 years at Jasper Wyman and Son Blueberry Factory, Cherryfield. She was a member of Indian River Grange, Addison, Pomona and State Granges and a member American Legion Auxiliary, Cherryfield. She was a communicant of Harrington Baptist Church. She is survived by two grandsons, William Thompson and Leon Thompson; one granddaughter, Annette Rich-ards; four great-grandsons, Von Anders Parent, George, Christopher and Daniel Richards; five great-granddaughters, Susan Richards, Elizabeth, Erin, Candice and Cassandra Thompson; four great-great-grandsons, Michael and JJ Owen, Nicholas Thompson and Caleb Richards; one daughter-in-law, Myrna Thompson; two special nieces, Ida Willette and Irma Pinkham; one special nephew, Alton Grant and his wife, Janet; many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Thompson; a son, William; a daughter, Wilma Thompson Anders; two grandsons, Von and Brent Anders; her sisters, Ellen Bracket and Sarah O’Halloran; and her brothers, Albion and Morton Grant. A graveside service will be celebrated 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at Small Cemetery, North Street, Cherryfield, with the Rev. Daniel Davis, pastor of Harrington Baptist Church, officiating.
