ALLAGASH – Ellen (O’Leary) Gardner, 85, entered into eternal life Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, when she passed away at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born Sept. 25, 1922, in St. John, the daughter of the late Dan and Augusta (McKinnon) O’Leary. She is survived by her husband, Charles Gardner of Allagash; one son, Charles Gardner III and his companion, Debbie Sampson, of Connecticut; six daughters, Patty Tracy and husband, Alden, of Florida, Donna Harvey of Connecticut, Mary Ruth Gagnon and her husband, Mike Gagnon, of Fort Kent, Jayne Jackson and her husband, Sterlin Jackson, of Allagash, Barbara and Greg Harvey of Allagash and Carla Donnely of Portland; one brother and sister-in-law, Willie and Alice O’Leary of St. John; two sisters-in-law, Gerry Wilcox and Anna O’Leary; 22 grandchildren, 27 great-grand-children, three great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. In addition to both parents, she was predeceased by one son, Colby Gardner; one daughter, Beverly Tracy; four sisters, Ethel Pelletier, Edith Gamashe, Mary and Annie O’Leary; and four brothers, Earl, Melvin, Irvin and Danny O’Leary. She loved and cherished all of her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her husband, family and all who knew and loved her. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home. The funeral service and the burial arrangements will be announced at a later date.
