MADAWASKA, VAN BUREN and HENDERSON, Nev. – Emilien R. Morn-eault, O.D., 78, died March 1, 2004, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was born Feb. 26, 1926, in Grand Isle, the son of Henry and Louise (Thibodeau) Morneault. He was educated in local schools, attended Van Buren Boys High School and graduated from John Bapst High School in Bangor. Dr. Morneault received his degree in optometry from the Philadelphia School of Optometry. He practiced as an optometrist in Madawaska for more than 38 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion, Thomas O. Cyr Post of Madawaska. He is survived by two sons, James Morneault and his wife, Diane, of Henderson, Nev., and Emil Morneault and his wife, Nancy, of Boulder City, Nev.; one daughter, Cheri Newman and her husband, Brian, of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada; six brothers, Angelo Morneault of Brewer, Camille Morneault of Windham, Leo Morneault of Las Vegas, Nev., Sylvio James Morneault of Manchester, Conn., and Louis Morneault of Grand Isle; two sisters, Jeannine Pelletier and Annette Daigle, both of Hartford, Conn., and Bertha Daigle of Tampa, Fla. He was predeceased by his wife, Isabel (Fournier) Morneault in 2002. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 27, at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church.
