HOULTON – Emmons G. Goding, 84, died Aug. 21, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 12, 1921, at Ashland, the son of Felix and Bertha (Alieff) Goding. Emmons was a member of the Houlton United Methodist Church. He graduated from Ashland High School and worked in the area as a forester, then moved to Massachusetts and was employed by New England Grocers for 38 years until retiring and moving to Houlton in 1988 where he made his home. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Smith) Goding of Houlton; four sons, Jason Goding and his wife, Judi, of Grosvenordale, Conn., Jeffrey Goding, Benjamin Goding and his wife, Denise, all of Dudley, Mass., David Goding and his wife, Vicky, of Charlton, Mass.; one daughter, Elsie Waterhouse and her husband, Kenneth, of Kissimmee, Fla.; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Gloria Goding. Friend may call 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services at 11, at the Houlton United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Naomi Sam’Kparka officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
