SILVERDALE, Wash. – Eric Robert Schreck, 23, formerly of Eastport, passed away Monday, Oct. 9, 2006, at Berkshire Medical Center, Pittsfield, Mass. Born March 4, 1983, in Calais, Eric was raised in Silverdale, Wash., where he graduated from Central Kitsap High School in 2001. He was a student at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, MCLA; majoring in fine and performance arts management. He loved theater and dance and being on stage. He was a seaman apprentice in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves. He attended MCLA, starting in 2002 and in 2005 attended one semester at the Disney College Program, Orlando, Fla., as an aquatic rescue professional. From December 2005 to September 2006, Eric resided in Eatontown N.J., where he was employed by PNC Bank, Wyckoff Road. A self-described professional life experiencer, Eric had a passion for restoring classic wooden sailboats. He loved fishing, photography, books, walking on the beach, and anything to do with pirates. Eric was predeceased by his father, Peter J. Schreck of Edgartown, Mass., May 26, 2006. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, E. Marlene (Selwood) Mitchell and Michael Mitchell; his sister, Shalene Mitchell, all of Silverdale, Wash.; his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Kathleen Schreck of Belgrade Lakes; his stepmother, Susan Schreck; siblings, Emilija, Beth and Timothy Schreck of Edgartown, Mass.; several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Eric had loving family and friends all over the country. Two services were held for Eric Schreck. A memorial was held Wednesday, Oct. 11, at MCLA, North Adams, Mass. A second service was held Oct. 20, at Crossroads Neighborhood Church, Silverdale, Wash.
