ERLON MELVIN GRANT NORWAY, Maine – Erlon M. Grant, died Jan. 6, 2008. He was born April 13, 1917, in Gar-land, the son of Ray William and Lizzie Maude Burgess Grant. He graduated from Foxcroft Academy in 1935. He married Matilda Rae Nuite, daughter of Charles Elwin and Mercena Pheobe Clifford Nuite; and moved to Wellesley, Mass., in 1937. He was employed as a service manager for many years by Wellesley Auto Sales. In 1961, he opened a service station and auto repair shop in Peabody, Mass. In 1971, he moved to Norway, Maine, where he worked in the same field until retirement in 1993. After retirement, he spent winters at his home in Lakeland, Fla. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, gardening, golf and travelling, which included all of Canada, Alaska and the lower 48 states. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Matilda; and three children, Ray and wife, Marilyn, of Waquoit, Cape Cod, Mass., Wayne of Nashua, N.H., and Roberta Grimmer and husband, Wholfgang, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and North Con-way, N.H.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
