BAR HARBOR – Ernest H. Taylor, 101, died Monday, July 16, 2007, at Mount Desert Island Hospital, Bar Harbor. He was born Aug. 5, 1905, in Dracut, Mass., the son of Ernest E. and Matilda M. (Mansfield) Taylor Jr. Ernest was a graduate of Ashland High School, Ashland, N.H., and worked for the U.S. government in the Postal Finance Department. He was a member of Lamoine Baptist Church. He is survived by three nieces, Ellen T. Smith of Indianapolis, Ann T. Saavedra of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Sandra Doyle of Palmer, Mass. He was predeceased by his wife, Viola (Bryan). A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Aug. 10, at Lamoine Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. David P. Henry officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Lamoine.
