EASTPORT – Ernest J. Guay Jr., 74, passed away Aug. 27, 2007, at his home. Ernest was born July 15, 1933, in Berlin, N.H., son of the late Ernest and Florida (Chenard) Guay Sr. He was a graduate of University of Maine – Machias and Rutgers University. Ernest was a retired Navy veteran, having served in the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Jeanette (Cassidy) Guay; two sisters, Jeanette and Doris; and two brothers, Norman and Leo. Ernest will sadly be missed by his son, James Lingley and wife, Linda, who was also his very special personal caretaker; two brothers, Lawrence Guay and his wife, Yolanda and Robert Guay and his wife, Rita; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Guay; five grandchildren, Craig Francis and wife, Emily, April Francis, Rebecca Lingley and her companion, Luke Harkins, Charla Morrison and husband, Jeff and Kristen Lingley; six great-grand-children, Keisha, Taylah, Kaylah, Greyson, Julian and Caylen; a special granddoggie, Halifax; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ernest’s memory to Island Nursing Home, 587 North Deer Isle Road, Deer Isle, ME 04627. A cremation service by Washington County Cremation Center.
