BANGOR – Ersel M. LaGasse, 82, wife of the late Albe J. LaGasse, died Oct. 16, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Sept. 11, 1924, in Newport, the daughter of Wallace L. and Doris O. (Gray) Robinson. Ersel was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a member of the Disable American Veterans Women’s Auxiliary, Bangor and Augusta. She was a member of St. David’s Catholic Church, Madawaska and in recent years she had attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bangor and St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Brewer. Surviving are five children, Wallace H. LaGasse of Clinton, Sandra A. Cintron of Lawrence, Mass., Arthur R. LaGasse of Bangor, Albe A. LaGasse of Hermon and Rachel M. Martin of Windham, N.H.; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lindley Robinson and his wife, Janet, of Plymouth; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Albe in 2000; a brother, Ronald Q. Robinson; and a sister, Marie E. Small. Her family thanks the sixth floor nursing staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital, for their wonderful care. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Brewer, with the Rev. Robert Vaillancourt, pastor, presiding. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Newport.
