OAKFIELD and DYER BROOK – Ervin H. Tarr, 89, went home to be with his Lord and Savior July 15, 2007. He was the son of John and Josephine (Botting) Tarr. Ervin married the love of his life, Leona Robinson, Nov. 25, 1939. Together they raised four children. He and Leona farmed in Oakfield and Dyer Brook for 37 years. They were married for 64 years, until her death in August 2004. Ervin was a member of Oakfield Baptist Church. He also served as selectman in Oakfield. Ervin loved to spend time with his family at barbecues, fishing, picking berries and his political shows on television. He is survived by his children, Dennis and his wife, Linda, of Littleton, Richard of Houlton, Norma Tarr of Dyer Brook, Joey and his wife, Trudy, of Oakfield and Irene and her husband, Randy, of Dyer Brook. He has nine grandchildren, Jolynn of Sidney, Patric Sherman of Waterville, Jason and Alyssa Tarr of Benton, Heidi Tarr of South Portland, Marci and Patrick Noonan of Windham, Michelle and Scott Douglas of Falmouth, Janelle and Todd Collier of Oakfield, Regan and Stacy of Merrill and Sheena Curry of Dyer Brook; seven great-grandchildren, Nicole, Alyssa and Kimberly Sherman, Jacob, Dustin and Zachary Noonan and Wyatt Joseph Ervin Tarr. Ervin will be sadly missed by his dear friend, Phyllis Drew of Oakfield. Ervin was predeceased by his wife, Leona; brothers, Warren, Bernard and Charles; sister, Athlyn; and infant granddaughters, Jamie Sue and Raya Lynn. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, at Bowers Funeral Home, Sherman Street, Island Falls, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Whitfield Curtis officiating.
