BRADLEY – Estelle Alvine Levesque, 64, died peacefully June 20, 2006, surrounded by her loving and supportive family at a Bangor hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 12, 1942, in Old Town, a daughter of Alfred and Henrietta (Lavoie) Taylor. Estelle will be forever remembered by many for her warm and caring nature. She touched many lives and inspired many cancer patients to continue to fight, and to never give up. She was awarded the Courage Award by the American Cancer Society. She was a tireless supporter of the Old Town Relay for Life and was awarded many plaques as the top individual fundraiser. Estelle cared deeply for others despite what she was going through. She was employed in the assisted living center of Orono Commons for more than 20 years. She enjoyed many types of crafts, but will certainly be remembered for her “pot scrubbers.” She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Wayne Levesque; five children, Dwayne Levesque and his wife, Peggy, Lisa Mahaney and her husband, Jeffrey, David Levesque and his wife, Nicki, Linda St. Peter and her companion, Keith Adams, and Laurie Levesque; seven grandchildren, Adam Mahaney and his wife, Jenn, Devin Levesque, Nicholas Levesque, John St. Peter, Josh St. Peter, Jessica Haskins, Christopher Haskins; two great-grand-children, Mackenzie and Brendan; four sisters, Josephine Randall and her husband, Linwood, Jeanne Marquis and her husband, Robert, Mary “Eleanor” LaBree and her husband, Dan, Dolores Stone and her husband, Don; two brothers, James Taylor and his wife, Mary Ann, Stephen Taylor and his, wife, Patti; in-laws, Merleen and Kenneth Thibodeau, Jennette and Henry Bickmore, Sonja and Linwood Philbrook, Robin and Wally Mishou; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, George Taylor; and a brother-in-law, Dwight Bishop. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church Bradley, with the Rev. Paul Kerns celebrant. Immediately after the service all are invited to the church Parish Hall for a light luncheon and continued fellowship. Burial will be conducted privately Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery, Bradley.
