OLD TOWN and EDDINGTON – Estelle F. Voter, 96, wife of the late Edmund J. “Ben” Voter, died peacefully Dec. 17, 2003, at an Orono health care facility. She was born Feb. 20, 1907, in Old Town, a daughter of George S. and Josephine M. (St. Pierre) Lavoie. Estelle was a wonderful and caring person who shared many friendships. She was an excellent caregiver to her family and others. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Mrs. Voter was the recipient of the Boston Post Cane for being the oldest citizen in Eddington. She is survived by a son, Donald Voteur and his wife, Pauline, of Eddington; six grandchildren, Robert Voteur of Ga., Diane DiSanto of Westfield, Mass., Michael Voteur and his wife, Christine, of Orrington, David Voteur and his fianc‚, Carroll Donavon, of Bradley, James Voteur and his wife, Melissa, of Brentwood, N.H., and Deborah Farley and her husband, Shawn, of Cromwell, Conn.; nine great-grandchildren, Sean and Donald Voteur, Anthony DiSanto, Jenna Voteur, Ashley Voteur, Hannah and Christine Voteur, Cody and Ryan Farley; four great-great-grandchildren, Gage, Christopher, Taylor, and David; a sister, Claire Veilleux of Old Town; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ben, in 1980; and five brothers, Philip, George, Rudolph, Raoul, and Romeo Lavoie; five sisters, Ernestine LePage, Rose LeBlanc, Juliette Roy, Henrietta Taylor, and Alvine Michaud. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main Street, Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Normand Richard, celebrant. Immediately following the mass all are invited to the Parish Center for a light luncheon and continued fellowship.
