BANGOR – Ethel C. (Davis) Schiro, 84, died Nov. 4, 2004, at a Bangor healthcare center. She was born Jan. 30, 1920, in Old Town, the daughter of Leland H. and Agnes M. (Mignault) Davis. She enjoyed golfing at Penobscot Valley Country Club and the Lucerne Golf Course. Ethel also received great pleasure from listening to good music, crocheting, and knitting. Ethel enjoyed spending her winters in Florida. She was predeceased by two husbands, Max Kagan and Sidney Schiro; and by two sisters, Frances Gellerson and Thelma Dow. Surviving are her stepchildren, Alan Schiro and his wife, Deedy, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., David Schiro and his wife, Jackie, of Manhattan, N.Y.; sisters, Barbara McLeod and her husband, William, of Springvale, Lydia Drake of Wells, Ella Dorr and her husband, Charles of Venice, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held noon Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at Beth Israel Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith, Family Center 163 Center St. Bangor, following the service.
