ORRINGTON – Ethel Ford Kennedy, 73, died Nov. 8, 2005, at her Orrington home after a long illness. She was born Feb. 18, 1932, in Lamoine, the daughter of Oscar and Hattie (Soper) Ford. Ethel graduated from Ells-worth High School in 1949. She was past president of the Tuesday Forum, life member of the Eastern Star and a very active member and past officer of the Sunshine Club for Children. Ethel is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Charles “Chuck” Kennedy, of Orrington; her son and his wife, Larry and Rose Kennedy, of Jacksonville, Fla.; her daughter and husband, Peggy and Roger Kennedy, of Bangor; one brother and his wife, William and Ruth Ford of Dover, N.H.; one granddaughter, Deann Kennedy; five nieces and nephews, Mike Briggs of Bangor, Debbie Hodgkins of Ellsworth, Wayne Ford, Bruce Ford and Linda MacNeil. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with the Rev. Adam Soderberg, pastor of East Orrington Congregational Church, officiating. Friends may call 11 a.m. Saturday until time of the service at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Dean Hill Cemetery, Orrington.
