WICHITA, Kan., and ASHLAND – Ethel LaJuean Prue, 87, died Jan. 25, 2007, at Cheney Golden Age Home, Cheney, Kan. She was born Nov. 20, 1919, in Carson, Iowa, the daughter of Lee William and Florida Ethel (Davis) McConnell. She was a 1937 graduate of Greenfield, Iowa, High School and taught school for a few years. She had been a resident of Kansas since September 2003. Mrs. Prue is survived by three sons, Norman Prue and his wife, Kathy, of Wichita, Kan., Lewis Prue Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Fort Fairfield and Dennis Prue of Caribou; one daughter, Bonnie Page of Ashland; eight grandchildren, Norman Jr., Joseph-Lewis, Michael, Thomas, Rodney, Teresa, Terilyn and Jason and 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jean Shrader and her husband, Bruce, Jeanette Dateman of Sun City, Ariz., and Kathryn Anderson of Harrison, Ark. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lewis P. Prue in 1980; one sister, Margaret Larsen; and four brothers, Paul, Tom, Lee and Arnum McConnell. A committal service and interment will be held in the spring at Ashland Municipal Cemetery.
