BROOKSVILLE – Eugene Henry Sr., 69, died peacefully July 23, 2005, at his home, with his sons by his side. He was born Oct. 27, 1935, the son of the late Albert Ellis Snow and the late Madeline Arvilla Grindle Snow. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing on Parkers Pond and working in the woods. He attended Deering High School in Portland. He served in the Army National Guard 1960-1966, as cook. He served as town selectmen for several years and was a member of the Blue Hill Odd Fellows (IOOF) from 1989 to present. He loved every job he took on. From his early years at Dennis Bottling Company to Hancock County Creamery, he logged many miles. He returned to cooking working at the Firepond in Blue Hill and Sisters in Little Deer Isle. His most recent job at the Liberty School brought him much joy. He was predeceased by his son, Henry E. Snow; two brothers, Albert Ellis Snow Jr. and Robert B. Snow. He is survived by three sisters, Mavis and Gene Dearborn of Hollis, Janice and Mert Billings of Brooksville and Brenda I. Douglas of Sedgwick; two sons, James and Leslie Snow of Hampden, Todd and Jaclyn Snow of Exeter, R.I. He was survived by are two daughters, Samantha McGuire of Bangor and Polly and Kevin Stevens of Levant. His 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson held a special place in his heart. A celebration of his life for family and friends will be held 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 6, at South Brooksville Community Center. Donations in his memory can be sent to James Snow, 343 Old County Road, Hampden, ME 04444. They will be used to create a scholarship at the Liberty School and for a trust fund for his 10 grandchildren.
