BUCKSPORT and WINTERPORT – Evelyn Ann Bass, 63, died Oct. 23, 2004, at a Bangor nursing facility. She was born Nov. 20, 1940, in Bangor, the daughter of Phillip and Madeline (Davis) Bass. She was a bus driver in the Bucksport school department for many years, as well as other positions in the school department. She was an avid hunter, loved animals, enjoyed country music, camping, and gardening with her “green thumb that could grow anything”. Evelyn is survived by her son, Eugene Bass and his wife, Judith, of Bucksport; grandchildren, Tanya Bass, Gena Bass, Etosha Leighton and Joshua Leighton; her daughter, Tiffany Harvey and her husband, Brendan, of Bucksport; grandchildren, Gabrielle Harvey, and Maddison Harvey; brothers, Wesley Bass and his wife, Bertha, of Winterport, and Francis Bass and his wife, Maxine, of Winterport; step-sister, Geneva Tupper and her husband, Steve, of Searsport; sister-in-law, Lauris Robbins of Glenburn; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Relatives, many friends, neighbors and her special cat, “Big Boy” will sadly miss her. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents; grandparents; and a half-brother, James Robbins. Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. A graveside memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at Hillside Cemetery, Bucksport, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating.
