NAPERVILLE, III. and MILLINOCKET – Evelyn May Peterson, 78, wife of the late Herman “Pete” Peterson, died Friday, June 16, 2006, at Tabor Hills Healthcare Facility. She was born Jan. 6, 1928, in Mount Vernon, N.Y., the daughter of Everett and Elma (King) Wyman. Mrs. Peterson was a graduate of Old Town High School. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Millinocket. A lifelong resident of Maine, she loved nature, cross-country skiing and walking. She will be remembered as a kind, loving and gentle woman who will be missed by everyone who knew her. She is survived by three sons, Eric Peterson and wife, Nancy, of Grays River, Wash., James Peterson and wife, Linda, of Issaquah, Wash. and David Peterson of Dresden; three daughters, Donna Young and husband, George, of Naperville, Ill., Laura Maloney and husband, Mike, of Issaquah, Wash. and Susan Peterson of Cranberry, Pa.; a sister, Betty Godfrey and husband, Dick, of Bedford, N.H.; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three nieces and nephews. Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Friday, June 23, at R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. with the Rev. Carolyn Bradley, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Millinocket, officiating. After the services, Mrs. Peterson will be laid to rest next to her husband, Pete, in Millinocket Cemetery.
