BREWER – Everett A. “Brownie” Brown, 85, husband of the late Beulah (Braley) Brown, died Jan. 4, 2004, at a Bangor health care center. He was born Oct. 13, 1918, in Bangor, the son of William E. and Edna M. (Harriman) Brown. Brownie was a graduate of Bangor High School, Class of 1938. He served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sargent during World War II in the 137th Radio Intelligence Division. He received several citations during that time. After he returned home from the service he owned and operated Brownies Flying A in Bangor. He then worked as a supervisor for Eastern Construction Company of Hampden for many years. Surviving are a son, James E. Brown of Levant; a daughter, Linda and her husband, Stephen Colbath, of Exeter; a grandson, Shawn Colbath and his wife, Stormy, of Exeter; two great-grandsons, Garrett Stephen Colbath and Cody Clark, both of Exeter; one sister, Velma Parson of Sebastian, Fla.; three sisters-in-law, Ernestine and her husband, David Cole of Bangor, Leone Turner of Hermon, Dorothy and her husband, Ken Bernard, of Winslow; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 12 noon Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor (Outer Hammond St. Extension) with the Rev. Elizabeth Vernon, pastor of the North Brewer Eddington United Methodist Church, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends for a reception at the North Brewer Eddington Church, North Main St., Brewer, following the burial service.
