BREWER – Everett F. Hart, 73, died peacefully March 15, 2005, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness with his family at his side. He was born Aug. 10, 1931, in Beverly, Mass., the son of Everett M. and Doris (Commeau) Hart. Everett was a lifetime member of the Brewer V.F.W., member of Ralph J. Pollard Lodge No. 217 A.F. & A.M of Orrington, Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Bangor, Maine Consistory 32 degree, and Anah Shriners of Bangor. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brewer and was recently appointed to the board of trustees. He worked many years as the Public Works Director for the City of Brewer. Everett also worked as the Assistant Director of Public Works for the City of Bangor until his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed his woodworking projects, his flower gardens, and was an avid card player. His family held a very special spot in his heart. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Eleanor (Cook) Hart, of Brewer; his children, Cathy and Joe Jordan of Clifton, Bob and Sue Hart of Bangor, Jim and Pam Hart of Glenburn, Sue and Steve Cox of Levant; eight grandchildren, BJ Hews and friend, Emily Hughes of Bangor, Shawn and Angela Hews of Bangor, Kim and Randall Jennings of Morrisville, N.C., Valerie Hart of Bangor, Kristen Hart and friend, Christopher Leighton, of Blairsville, Penn., Lindsey Hart of Glenburn, Jared and Marissa Cox of Levant; four great-grandchildren, Hunter Hews of Bangor, Julianna Jennings of Morrisville, N.C., and soon to be born twins, Garyn and Abrielle Jennings, also of Morrisville, N.C. Everett is also survived by his young brother, Dick and his wife, Sharon, of Brewer; his aunt, Florence McEachern of Brewer; and special cousin, Virginia Meyers and husband, Richard, of Cincinnati, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be missed by his many friends and his favorite cribbage partner, Maynard Baker of Hampden. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Elinor Simons. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church of Brewer with the Rev. Dr. George Curtis III officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments in the church fellowship hall after the service. Spring interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Brewer.
