MEDWAY – Everett Joseph “Papa” Gagnon, 72, died at the home of his daughter in Winslow, Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004. He was born in Van Buren, Dec. 21, 1931, one of 16 children of Onsime and Alice (Tardif) Gagnon. Everett was the husband of the late, Velma (Rioux) Gagnon who died on Sept. 20, 1986. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. Everett was employed by Great Northern Paper Company, East Millinocket for 35 years retiring in 1988. He was a communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in East Millinocket and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Everett was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his camp. He is survived by three sons, Paul and wife, Kathy Gagnon, of Millinocket, Marc Gagnon and companion, Cindi Dudley, of Florida, and Daniel and wife, Lisa Gagnon, of Lyman; four daughters, Anne and husband, Glenn Dodwell, of Oklahoma, Nancy and husband, Tim Reynolds, of Winslow, Ruth and husband, Jeff Shaw, of Saco, and Jeanine and husband, Robert Farrington, of Medway; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a very special friend, Roz Gullbrand of Sanford; he is also survived by several siblings, nieces, and nephews. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Thursday, and 12 noon to 8 p.m. Friday, at his residence on Horseshoe Road, Medway, where St. Anne’s Circle Daughters of Isabella will recite the rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in East Millinocket Cemetery at a later date. If friends wish, donations in Everett’s memory may be made to the Lovejoy Health Center. Arrangements are by R.L.
