NEW YORK CITY – Faith D. Waterman, 102, died peacefully July 15, 2008, at her home. Ms. Waterman was born in Bangor, in 1905, to Arthur and Helen Waterman. Faith was an intelligent and cultured woman whose forceful personality and interest in people made her an unforgettable friend and family member. A lover of the arts with a passion for knowledge and a wide circle of friends throughout the world, she held a variety of interesting positions, including personal assistant to Margaret Truman and to the noted journalist, Dorothy Thompson, and staff member of the Andre Seligmann Gallery. We will feel her loss greatly but celebrate her long, full and joyful life. She was the granddaughter of Julius J. Waterman; beloved and loving sister of John J. Waterman, Arthur Waterman Jr. and Doris W. Neu, all of whom predeceased her. She is the treasured sister-in-law of the late Hugo Neu; adored aunt of John L. Neu and wife, Wendy, Richard W. Neu and Karen W. Shorter; cherished great-aunt of Jeffrey P. Neu and wife, Amy Kramer, Robert T. Neu and wife, Francine, Steven W. Neu and Amy Scheman-Neu and husband, Daniel; and special great-great-aunt of Chloe, Olivia and Spencer Neu and Abigail Scheman. Friends and family celebrated her life Monday, July 21, at Centolire Restaurant, 1167 Madison Ave., 86th St., New York City. Contributions in her memory may be made to Faith D.
