LEVANT – Faye Ruth Hodgdon, 78, wife of Carlton R. “Dick” Hodgdon, died June 20, 2007, at her home. She was born Feb. 21, 1929, in Levant, a daughter of Lloyd and Marion (Ames) Clement. Faye graduated from Brewer High School. She was a former member of the Eastern Star and the Jolly Christmas Club. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Faye was an avid gardener, enjoyed her home, and feeding the birds. She will always be remembered for her quick wit, kind heart, and positive outlook on life. In addition to her devoted husband of 57 years, “Dick,” she is survived by one daughter, Jody Hurd and husband, Dennis, of Hermon; two sisters, Beryle Higgins and husband, Sidney, of Levant and Sally Getchell and husband, Wayne, of Zephyrhills, Fla. She was a most precision Gram to Garrett, Brady and Meghan Hurd, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Galen Clement. Relatives and friends may call 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Rick Lambert officiating. Interment will be at Waugh Cemetery, Levant. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Faye may be made to Levant Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 189, Levant, ME 04456 or Capitol Ambulance, 315 Harlow St., Bangor, ME 04401. A reception will be held after the interment at Bangor Elks Club, Odlin Road, Bangor.
