KENDUSKEAG and HAMPDEN – Fern M. (Adams) Mudgett, 84, wife of the late George A. Mudgett, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Dec. 11, 2006, surrounded by her family and Christian friends. She was born Nov. 13, 1922, in Levant, the daughter of Amos H. and Eliza J. (Nichols) Adams. She was known to many as “Nana,” “Mom” and “Gram.” Mrs. Mudgett was employed by the Kenduskeag school department as a bus driver for 28 years. She was a member of the TOPS Club and a member of the Glenburn Covenant Church. She was predeceased by a son, George Anthony Mudgett; a son-in-law, Bernard Teachout; three sisters, Margaret Brawn, Rena Dupray and Althea Marshall; a brother, John Adams; and a very special friend, Kenneth Colpitts. Surviving are four children, Jane G.T. Gillahan and her husband, Robert, of Hampden, William H. Mudgett and his wife, Janice Zoerheide Mudgett of Glenburn, Keith A. Mudgett and his wife, Candy, of Winterport and Rosalie J. Barker and her husband, Stephen, of Kenduskeag; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Mudgett of Glenburn; grandchildren, Bernadine, Arlene, Annette, Susan, Cassandra, Ernie, Heather, Cheryl, Stacie, Keith, Troy, Beth, Krystal, Serina and Alysia; 25 great-grandchildren; one sister, Pauline Staples of Dexter, several nieces and nephews. The family thanks all those who lovingly cared for our mother during the last days of her life. Friends may call 3-6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at the Glenburn Covenant Church with the Rev. Gregory DuBois, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Hill Top Cemetery, West Corinth.
