CHESTER – Florence (Jipson) Gray, 79, wife of the late Harold Gray, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at a local nursing home. She was born June 7, 1926, in Chester, the daughter of Fritz and Emma (Luce) Jipson. Florence enjoyed being the head cook at Penobscot Valley Hospital for 30 years. She also liked to hunt and fish. She is survived by a daughter, Christine Bowden of Dover-Foxcroft; a brother, Fritz Jipson of Burlington; four grandchildren, Sean Allen of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., John Bowden of Southeast Harbor, Misty Bowden of Bar Harbor and Rain Bowden of Southwest Harbor; four great-grandchildren, Shawn Arguin Jr., Hunter Arguin, Cullen Bowden and Morgan Bowden. Friends may call Monday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Keith Cushman officiating.
