EDDINGTON – Florence M. Sargent, 84, went peacefully to be with the Lord March 11, 2006, surrounded by her son, Larry and sister, Irene, at an Ellsworth healthcare facility. Florence was born Dec. 13, 1921, in Brewer, the daughter of Charles and Bessey (Taylor) Drew. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Norman Sargent in 1966. In addition, Florence was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur Drew and Norman Drew; and a granddaughter, Bethany Smith. Florence is survived by her devoted son, Larry Sargent and his wife, Judy, of Bar Harbor; her daughter, Sandra “Jean” Davis of Bangor; and her daughter, Linda Bowden and her husband, Nathan, of Texas. Florence is also survived by a very special sister, Irene Day of Bangor; and six grandchildren, Heidi Threfethen of Bangor, Nancy Tibbetts and her husband, Jerry, of Bar Harbor, Norman Sargent and his wife, Michelle, of Hancock, Sally Schwaize and her husband, John, of Brewer, Cindy Trask and her husband, Mike, of Charleston and Daniel Lufkin of Medford; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She loved spending time with her family and each one remembers a specialty dish she would cook just for them. She will be dearly missed by her family, her friends and the staff of Courtland Rehabilitation and Living Center. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with Pastor Ronald Pyle, pastor of the Church of God, Bucksport, officiating.
