HODGDON and GEORGIA – Floyd Irvin Bither, 71, passed into eternal rest Nov. 22, 2005, at a Georgia healthcare facility. He was born Sept. 22, 1934, at Linneus, the son of Frank and Flora (Adams) Bither. Floyd graduated from Hodgdon High School, Class of 1953, where he played basketball, amongst other activities. He attended the Hodgdon Methodist Church. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, Floyd worked as a bus mechanic and supervisor for Manatee School Board in Florida for 22 years. He will be greatly missed by the family he loved. He’ll also be remembered for his great joy of four-wheeling and baseball. Floyd is survived by his wife of 21 years, Eileen M. Bither; two sons, Randy Bither and his wife, Susan, of Brandon, Miss., Robbie Jay Bither; one daughter, Robin Hoover and her husband, David, of Clinton, Miss.; two stepdaughters, Debra Greiner and her husband, William, of Hixson, Tenn., Sharon Smith and her husband, Kurt, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; one stepson, David Pike and his wife, Linda, of McDonough, Ga.; eight grandchildren, one great-grandson; three sisters, Ethlynn Nealy of Houlton, Dorothy Nesbitt and Wilma Welton; one brother, Wayne Bither and his wife, Gail, all of Hodgdon; sister-in-law, Virginia (Marie) Bither of Houlton; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers Forrest and Leo Bither. A memorial service will be announced in the spring of 2006. Interment will be in the Hodgdon Cemetery.
