EDINBURG – Frances V. (Ouellette) Plourde, 80, wife of Richard R. Plourde, passed away Aug. 25, 2007, with her family by her side, at home after a brief illness. She was born Dec. 22, 1926, in Brunswick, the daughter of Andre and Delia (Tetreault) Ouellette. Frances and her husband, Richard, owned and operated Plourde’s Gerneral Store, How-land, for 20 years. Retiring in 1972, they made their home in Edinburg. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends, especially the day long shopping trips to Bangor. Frances was an avid Red Sox fan and she enjoyed a variety of music. She was a loving and caring person, who thought of others before herself. Frances and her husband recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. In addition to her husband, Richard, she is survived by a son, Robert Plourde and Cindy of Howland; a daughter, Patty Hutchinson and Gerald of Edinburg; a sister, Sophie Mc-Elkinny of Brunswick; grandchildren, Aaron Plourde of Lagrange, Heather Buck and fianc?, Paul Campbell, of Howland and Megan Cronkite and Sam of Knoxville, Md.; a stepgrandson, Matthew Duque and Abby of Bradley; five very special great-grandchildren, Kayla, Ryley, Emma, Benjamin and Nathan; several nieces and nephews. Frances will also be missed by special friends, Joel and Denise LaVertu. She was predeceased by two brothers, Alfred and Andre Jr.; and four sisters, Jeanette, Rose, Laura and Lucille. At her request, there will be no viewing hours. A funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Howland. Interment will be at Edinburg Cemetery.
