WINTERPORT – Frances Yvonne (Dwelley) Lawler, 82, passed away peacefully Nov. 18, 2006, surrounded lovingly by her children at a Bangor hospital of pneumonia. She was born Sept. 15, 1924, in Alexander, the daughter of Leigh L. and Mildred (Clark) Dwelley. She worked at numerous jobs throughout the years, but especially enjoyed being a cook at the Leroy Smith School, Winterport. Her favorite pastimes were crocheting, knitting, quilting, her flower garden and dancing. She loved and will always be remembered for her piano playing. Her children will always remember her hot donuts, fried dough “singing biddies” and wonderful pies. Frances will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She leaves her children, Rebecca Greene and husband, Jerry Greene, of Detroit, Mary Ann Flewelling and husband, David, of Frankfort, Michael Lawler and wife, Kathleen, of Hampden and Anthony Lawler and wife, Barbara, of Newburgh; seven grandchildren, Dawn Caron of Holden, Krista Clayton and husband, Robert Clayton, of Park City, Utah, Gretchen Galvin and husband, Jon Galvin, of Lawrenceville, Ga., Michelle Keller of Winterport, Katelyn Lawler and Rachel Lawler, both of Hampden and Danielle Lawler of Newburgh; nine great-grandchildren, Andrew, Sarah, Molly, Tabitha, Rebecca, Sara, Elizabeth, Joshua and Sadie; two special sisters-in-law and friends, Frances Dwelley of Frostproof, Fla., and Lily Dwelley of Dexter; several special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Charles Frederick Lawler in 1967; two sons, Charles Richard Lawler in 1962 and John Douglas Clark in 1964; sister, Bessie Dwelley Wheaton in 1990; brothers, Lemont Dwelley in 1989, Arthur Dwelley in 1992, Oliver Dwelley in 1991; and a half brother, Edward Dwelley in 2001. A private service for all family members will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport.
