THORNDIKE – Francis E. Hyde Sr., 62, formerly of Genoa, N.Y. died unexpectedly Dec. 30, 2004, while visiting family in New York. He was Born March 2, 1942, in Nichols, N.Y. he was a son of the late Lee and Myrtle (Conklin) Hyde. He was predeceased by his sons, Robert and LaForest Hyde; grandson, Benjamin Murray; brothers, Richard and Charles Burgess; and sisters, Luela and Jenie. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Etta (Bouton) Hyde, of Thorndike; daughters, Annette Havens, Tracy Hyde, Jodene (Brent) Murray, Rosena (Doug) Wetmore; sons, Duane (Mari) Hyde, Francis Hyde Jr.; brother, William (Jennie) Burgess; sister, Ruth Platt, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sally and John Schneider; 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and special friend, Cheryl Maxson. Mr. Hyde was a dairy farmer in Genoa for many years. He enjoyed listening to country and western music. Family and friends are invited to attend a remembrance gathering, 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, which will be held at the Glen Aubrey Fire Station, 3800 Rte. 26. Glen Aubrey MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley, is assisting the family with arrangements.
