VALATIE, N.Y. – Brother Francis J. Michaud, CSC, died Oct. 8, 2005, in Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, N.Y., after a brief illness. Brother Francis J. Michaud was born Dec. 7, 1912, in Island Falls, the son of Joseph J. and Annastasia (Saucier) Michaud. He was educated in the public schools of Island Falls, receiving his high school diploma in 1931, attended Aroostook State Teachers College in Presque Isle and received his bachelors degree from the University of Maine in 1949. He served in the U.S. Army 1942-1945. He entered the congregation of the Holy Cross as a candidate for the brotherhood in 1952, made his perpetual vows in 1958 and taught in various schools throughout the country. Interment was held Oct. 13, at the Holy Cross Community Cemetery on the grounds of St. Joseph Center, Valatie, N.Y.
