PERRY and EASTPORT – Francis W. Morrison Sr., 85, died Jan. 29, 2004, at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. He was born March 3, 1918, at Robbinston, the son of Robert and Dolly (Beaney) Morrison. Francis attended Robbinston and Calais schools. During his early years he worked in the lumbering and fishing industries and later moved to Portland, where he worked as a welder at the shipyard. Upon returning to Perry, he was employed as a supervisor at Guilford Industries in Eastport for 25 years. He particularly enjoyed fishing with his sons for 15 years, building model boats, a fishing boat and working in his garden. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda and Richard Bowley of Perry; three sons, Sanford and Jean of Eastport, Francis Jr. and Betty of Dennysville, Gary and Heather of Perry; a sister, Yvonne Newcomb of Perry; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen of 52 years; and a grandson, Stephen. Francis is especially remembered by his pet friends, Smokey and Choo-Choo. A graveside service will be announced at a later date.
