BANGOR – Francis X. Leen Sr., 79, died Dec. 11, 2005, at a local hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born Feb. 10, 1925, in Bangor, the son of Sidney and Edna (White) Leen. Francis worked for Pepsi Cola and several dry cleaning business and retired from the University of Maine in the heating and engineer department in 1995. He served during World War II as a gunney sergeant in the U.S. Marines. He is survived by his wife, June of Bangor; three daughters, Cathy Wescott and her husband, Gerald, of Orrington, Donna Carle of Pennsylvania, Carol Randall and her husband, Skip, of Old Town; four sons, Francis Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Bangor, Armand of Bangor, William and his wife, Linda, of Florida and Scott and his wife, Denise, of Alaska, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; one son, Thomas; six sisters, Louise, Joan, Donna, Esther, Celia and Mary; two brothers, Sidney and Joe. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, at the Greenlawn Funeral Home, 300 State St., Bangor. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery with the Rev. Roland Nadeau chaplain of St. Joseph Hospital officiating. Friends who wish may make donations to St. Joseph’s Home Health and Hospice Care.
