BELFAST – Gary Lee Curtis, 58, died Dec. 11, 2005, at Belfast. He was born Aug. 4, 1947, in Belfast, the son of Rhoda (Kutz) and Fred H. Curtis Jr. Gary graduated from Searsport High School in 1965 and worked for the Town of Searsport for many years. He was an avid sports fan who was happy to see the Boston Red Sox win the 2004 World Series. Gary is survived by four children, Amy Wardwell and husband, Dana Wardwell Jr., of Frankfort, Carrie Ward and Reginald Curtis Jr. of Stockton Springs, Robert Curtis and wife, Gaytha of Houston, Texas, Randall Curtis and Stacie Penney, of Bangor; three sisters, Beth Flanders and husband, Maynard, of Searsport, Linda Wancus and husband, Edward, of Prospect, Gail Curtis and husband, William, of Searsport; aunts, Charlotte Staples of Belfast, Sylvia Katz of Bath; seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Gary was predeceased by his parents, Rhoda (Kutz) Curtis and Fred H. Curtis Jr. An informal gathering of family and friends will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at the home of Gail Curtis, Searsport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to assist with final expenses may be sent to Young Funeral Home, P.O. Box 283, Searsport, ME 04974.
