BANGOR – Frank V. Crocker, 89, passed away peacefully May 9, 2007, surrounded by his loving family and his favorite Lawrence Welk music at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor. He was born June 16, 1917, in St. Albans, son of Earl and Minnie (Love) Crocker. Frank was a World War II Marine veteran stationed at Pearl Harbor, and Maui, Hawaii. Upon his return to Bangor, he worked for Footman’s Dairy delivering to homes for more than 37 years, while he and his wife, Lillian, raised their family. After retirement, he enjoyed talking to people all over the world on his amateur ham radio, and taking trips with his wife to Clearwater, Fla., and Parks Pond, Clifton. Frank is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lillian; a son, Robert and his wife, Diane; daughter, Nancy Harris, all of Bangor; six grandchildren, Kevin Crocker, Kim Landry and Kelly Babcock, Scott, Stacey and Shawn Harris; 14 great-grandchildren, Robert and Joel Crocker, Holly Crosby, Christopher, Brandon and Josh Landry, Kyle and Brooke Babcock, Austin, Keeli, Cameron, Seth and Cassidy Harris; two great-great-grandchildren, Leah and Tyler Crosby. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Catherine Tewks-bury and Barbara Kalain. The family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Maine Veterans’ Home for their wonderful care and support. In keeping with his requests, a graveside service for the family only will be held Monday, May 14, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor, with the Rev. Robert T. Carlson officiating.
