NEWPORT and ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Frank Vinal Randall, 86, died Oct. 4, 2003, at a Pittsfield hos-pital. He was born July 14, 1917, at China, a son of Frank B. and Ethel (Emmit) Randall. Frank served in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in the South Pacific. He was a well-known area farmer. He was also the proprietor of Randall’s Spraying Service, which is now operated by his son Frank. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He is survived by two sons, Richard F. and Frank E. Randall, both of Newport; a daughter, Francine and husband, John Mayhew Jr. of Pittsfield; a brother, Earl and wife, Betty Randall, of Pittsfield; three granddaughters, Natalia Mayhew, Katie Randall and Margo Mayhew. At his request there will be no public visitation. A graveside committal service will be conducted by the American Legion and VFW at Riverside Cemetery, Newport, 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, with the Rev. Charles Talmadge officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, care of Mr. Theodore Robinson, Quartermaster, 557 Stetson Road, Exeter, ME 04435.
