BANGOR – Fred Allen Salisbury, 85, husband of Carolyn (Sproul) Salis-bury, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005. Fred was born May 1, 1919, in Holden, the son of Lyman and Gertrude (Chadwick) Salisbury. He lived in Otis as a child and later moved to Bangor. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a long-time employee of Viner’s Shoe. He was a member of The Glad Tidings Church. He and his wife raised several of their nephews over the years. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carolyn of Bangor, and his six nephews, Michael Murphy of Old Town, Joseph Murphy and his wife, Linda, of Bangor, Brian Murphy and his wife, Lisa, of North Dakota, Timothy Murphy and his wife, Debra, of Hudson, Chris Davis and his wife, Susan, of Milford, Lyman Mann of Texas; his niece, Lydia McGraw of Arizona; nine grandchildren, Eric Murphy of Ellsworth, Noreen Littlefield and her husband, Andy, of Bangor, Jo-Anna Murphy of Bangor, Brian, Brandy, Austin, and Jessica Murphy of North Dakota, Timmy and Tommy Davis of Bangor. He was predeceased by his sister, Cornelia Mann. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at the Glad Tidings Church, 1033 Broadway, Bangor, with the Rev. Ron Morris, Senior Pastor, officiating. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of service. Spring burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Otis.
