MILLINOCKET – Frederica A. “Freddie” Fahey, 88, passed away peacefully June 26, 2006, at the Millinocket Regional Hospital, comforted by her loving sons, Frank and Scott; and her daughter-in-law, Jean (Kuzma) Fahey. She was born March 21, 1918, in Millinocket, the daughter of the late Frank and Maude (Gates) Emery. She graduated from Stearns High School, Class of 1935. She was the beloved wife of John Fahey, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. In addition to their two sons, she had four adoring grandchildren, John and Joseph Fahey of Claremont, N.H. and Meghan and Sean Fahey of Baltimore, Md. She attended Boston University graduating in 1938, worked briefly in a travel agency in Hanover, N.H. and then returned home to work for the Great Northern Paper Co., marry and start a family. As her sons grew older, she returned to work at the Millinocket Trust Co. where she was employed for 23 years, until her retirement in 1985. She was a lifelong, active parishioner of the First Congregational Church of Millinocket. Her love of learning and literature was manifested in her numerous reading groups and book club affiliations, and in a lifetime engagement with the exercise of writing. A time of visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 29, at R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. The funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 30, at the First Congregational Church of Millinocket, 274 Katahdin Ave., Millinocket. Burial will be at Millinocket Cemetery.
