PLEASANTON, Calif. – Louise Goodspeed, 89, a long-time resident of Hermon, passed away March 19, 2006, in Livermore, Calif. Louise was born Aug. 1, 1916, in Lewiston. Louise joins her husband, Lloyd Wilson Goodspeed. Louise was predeceased by her brother, Earl “John” Clifford of Caribou. She is survived by daughters, Janet Marie Sloan of Groveland, Calif. and Joanne Irene Smith of Dublin, Calif.; grandchildren, Gretchen Goritz, Cindy Burnett and Erik Smith; great-grandchildren, Peter Goritz, James Goritz, Sam Burnett and Zachary Burnett. Louise was a member of the Eastern Star and worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Penobscot Savings Bank, Bangor. She and Lloyd moved to Florida in 1978. In 1988, after Lloyd’s passing, she moved to California to live closer to family. She enjoyed camping, sewing, loved to play bingo and was a master of cribbage. She was a loving wife and a kind, gentle mother, grandmother and great-grand-mother. She was truly loved and will be missed by all the family and friends. Services will be held 2 p.m. June 22, at Pine Tree Cemetery, Hermon. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that you make a donation to the American Heart Association.
