BREWER and BANGOR Gail Miriam Freese, 70, of Brewer, formerly of Bangor, died Jan. 18, 2004, at her home in Brewer. She was born Sept. 13, 1933, in Bangor, the daughter of Langdon Jackson and Mildred Auroa (Larson) Freese. Gail attended Bangor schools, Abbott Academy, Emerson College and the University of Vermont. She enjoyed nature and was a lover of birds and will be remembered as an expert at identifying them. She was a member of the Maine Audubon Society and the Bangor Nature Club. Surviving are one brother, Andrew J. Freese of Brewer, who loved her dearly and will greatly miss her friendship; and numerous cousins. Gail was predeceased by her father, Langdon, in 1974 and her mother, Mildred, in 2002. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Mark Allen Doty, minister of the Hammond Street Congregational Church, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of service. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
